Drive to a Quiet Starter Road
You won't be expected to drive out of your busy street straight away. Manfred drives you to a quiet, wide residential starter area with virtually no traffic so you can learn in peace without feeling watched or rushed.
The Cockpit Drill (DSSL)
You'll swap into the driver's seat and learn how to adjust your car for optimum control: Doors closed, Seat position adjusted, Steering clearance, Seatbelt on, and Mirrors set correctly for clear sightlines.
Controls & Clutch Biting Point
We break down the pedals (Accelerator, Brake, Clutch) and the handbrake. You'll practice finding the clutch 'biting point' until your feet build smooth muscle memory without stalling.
Moving Off & Stopping (POM Routine)
Master the fundamental POM routine: Prepare the car, Observe all mirrors and blind spots, Move into the road smoothly, and practice stopping gently by the kerb in total control.
Dual-Controlled Peace of Mind

The complete beginner learning journey
Every lesson follows the official DVSA driver training syllabus, progressing steadily at your individual speed.
Stage 1: Car Control & Moving Off
Cockpit setup, smooth clutch release, gentle braking, gear selection (1st, 2nd, reverse), and parking safely by the kerb.
Stage 2: Junctions & MSM Routine
Emerging from T-junctions, turning left and right, understanding right-of-way, and applying the Mirrors-Signal-Manoeuvre routine automatically.
Stage 3: Roundabouts & Crossroads
Navigating mini-roundabouts, single-lane roundabouts, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and anticipating other road users.
Stage 4: Faster Roads & Dual Carriageways
Cruising on national speed limit country roads, dual carriageways (A350), multi-lane roundabouts, and understanding safe stopping distances.
Stage 5: The 3 Mandatory Test Manoeuvres
Mastering parallel parking, forward & reverse bay parking, and pulling up on the right side of the road with millimetre accuracy and 360-degree observation.
Stage 6: Mock Tests on Chippenham Routes
Independent driving with sat-nav or road signs, full mock practical tests on real Chippenham DVSA test routes, and detailed debriefs so test day feels routine.
