This Photo & Media Consent Privacy Policy supplements the main Skippers Driving School Privacy Policy. It specifically governs how Skippers Driving School collects, stores, publishes, and protects photographs, quotes, and testimonials provided by successful learner drivers.

2. Lawful Basis for Processing (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a))

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), our lawful basis for taking and publishing your pass photo, testimonial, and first name is explicit, informed consent.

Giving consent is completely voluntary. It is never a requirement or condition of taking driving lessons, booking driving tests, or continuing tuition with Skippers Driving School. You are entirely free to refuse or to withdraw your consent at any time without giving a reason.

3. Information We Collect

When you provide consent, we may collect and publish:

  • • Photographs: A digital photograph of you holding your driving test pass certificate, typically beside the Skippers tuition vehicle.
  • • First Name & Area: Your first name only, alongside your test centre or general town (e.g. "Alex • Chippenham"). We never publish your surname, telephone number, home address, or email address.
  • • Testimonial & Pass Date: Any feedback, review quote, or reflection you choose to share regarding your driving lessons.

4. Safeguarding & Protecting Sensitive Information

Your driving test pass certificate contains personal details (such as your driver number and address). We inspect all photographs prior to publication to verify that certificate numbers and private information are obscured or illegible.

5. Where Your Photograph Is Published

Depending on the options you selected on your Consent Form, your image and review may be featured on:

6. Learners Under 18 Years of Age

If a learner driver is under 18 years of age at the time of passing their driving test, consent must also be confirmed by a parent or legal guardian. Parents/guardians may submit consent using the digital form or by written confirmation to Manfred.

7. Right to Withdraw Consent & Deletion within 48 Hours

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Once withdrawn, we will:

  • • Remove your photograph, testimonial, and name from skippersdrivingschool.co.uk.
  • • Delete the corresponding post from our official Facebook page.
  • • Delete the original photograph from our digital storage systems.

To exercise your right to withdraw consent, simply email info@skippersdrivingschool.co.uk or text Manfred on 07970 550806. We will acknowledge your request and remove your image within 48 hours.

8. Data Retention

We retain published photos and reviews for as long as they remain helpful and relevant for future learners researching driving lessons with Skippers Driving School, or until you request their removal. Periodic audits are conducted to retire older media.
